It probobly blew because you had the gains set wrong and the amp was severly clipping the signal going to the sub. Sony amps are overrated so you were probobly expecting it to do more then it can. If Infinity subs are crap then why is DYohn using them in his setup???

That was the point I was trying to make :) I cant see an infinity 10.1d burn out under just normal everyday (properly set gain and matched amp) use or they would have the same feedback as audiobahn or sony subs.

Like others have already said, more likely CRAP AMP or CRAP SETUP.
