What is the blue port with about 10 pins in it for in the back? Is this something that a CD changer hooks in to? If so, I am looking for an adapter that will let me hook my Ipod up to it. Any suggestions with this receiver?

let me clarify....sorry, I have a DEH-P2500 HU in my boat and I want to hook up my Ipod without the cheesy FM adapter. thanks

I did some research and came up with the new CD-IB100 adapter that uses the bus port....I think that is the port in the back that I am talking about. Anyone know on a Pioneer? just do a google on this adapter model #. It's about $109. Not bad.

does anyone know if that blue port in the back is this 'bus port' that they talk about when using this adapter? If not, I will continue to talk to myself....

It's a CD Changer port. Square connector with about 16 pins ?

The port you refer to is called an IP-BUS port...it is used to hook up changers, cellphone mutes, microphones, pretty much any of the aftermarket Pioneer products. Pioneer is going to make an ipod adapter, but it is not going to be available until Spring according to their website. Alpine already has one out though, it costs about $100 (retail).

Yep, that's what the port looks like. This is the port that Pioneer and apple are using to hard wire the Ipod into the HU. The connection costs about $110, but it allows even older Pioneer receivers to be able to control the Ipod from the HU, or the actual Ipod itself if you choose. Thank you everyone for the info. I hope this helps someone else out when trying to hook up an Ipod to an aftermarket HU. Justin
