Hello all I live in okinawa Japan in the U.S. Air Force. I have a Silvia s14 and have recently put a system into it. I am going to be using the hole where my rear seat covers to put my subs. The question that i have is this: I can put 2 or 3 8" subs there but only have enough room for about 1.2 cf for a box. I am running a precision pwer pc 2600 amp for them. What subs do yall recomend and what type of enclosure. the amp can put out 600x1 @ 4 ohms bridged. I am relativley new to this so any input is greatly apreciated! I am looking at spending around $500 for the subs max. I just want something that has a good amount of bass to it. A friend recomended running 2 kicker 04sl87 4 ohm subs. Anyone? I attached a couple of pics so you guys could see what i am talking about. the speakers you see are 6.5's. Thank you all in advance! Sully

i would go with 2 or 3 kicker solobarrick 8's . a friend of mine had 3 in his acura rsx and it sounded great.

If you can squeeze 2 10's in there you will be much more satisfied. It looks like you should be able to do it. 8's won't give as much low bass as 10's (I'm talking about if you use the same brand and model of subs).

I would love to go with 10's but it would require me to cut into the rear seat part. I don't want to do that. Thank you for your imputs guys!

Can you squeeze one 10" in there? Say like a MB Quart ref10 in a 1.25 cu.ft. slot ported enclosure. This delivers some stunning results.

I like his idea. ^^^ One or two tens would sound best. You could fire the sub upwards instead maybe instead of having it fire directly into the cabin. You could make a wide box that isn't real deep and lay it on its back with the sub firing upward in the trunk maybe.

Or the sub can fire backwards on an angle if there is more room in the trunk. I'm full of good ideas, we should all get days off with pay. Like that one?

That is exactly what I was talking about. You can angle the box so that it will fit in the area you have. If you want them to be seen, you could use plexiglass on the rear so the magnets will be visible.

Here is the space that i got: From the top of the sub box to the back of the amp rack is 7.5 inches From the bottom of the sub box to the back of the amp rack is 9.6 inches The hole measures 9 inches If i cut the surround off the trunk hole i get .75 inches. Would 3 8's sound that different than 2 10's? All i have ever had before was 2 12's and 1 12 setups. Thanks again yall!

With going for 10's what subs would yall recomend? The mb quart ref10? what is that. I did a search on google and didnt see anything. Also what are some goos websites to purchase subs from? I would need it to be an end result of 4 ohms. They sell everything here but at grossly overinflated prices. Thanks yall!!

try resonate engineering. they make great product, and at gooo prices. look into the XXX series, which has an XBL^2 motor (excellent sq/spl combo), or the sx series. they don't do internet sales here in the states, but their web site is www.reaudio.com , or you can also try www.bladeice.com , their overseas connection. good luck. -------------
