Subject: Image Dynamics and Soundstream Amp?

I am thinking about getting 2 of the Image Dynamic IDQ12D4 V.2 subs. Would the Soundstream VGA-800.2 be a good matchup with these subwoofers. Would it be best to get the 2 ohm subs or the 4 ohm subs. Which one would be more beneficial for me to get the most power from the amp.

Thanks, I appreciate any input on this topic.

I would get the DVC, so you can get the optimum 4ohm bridged on the amp. Build the enclosure to ID's exact specs.

It will seem a bit small at first, use the box specs for big bass.  They give you 3 choices, I think they'll want 1.3 ft per sub?Them things will pound....

So would I be better off getting the 2 ohm subs or the 4 ohm subs?????????? The amp is rated at 400 RMS X2 and 2 ohms and 200 RMS X2 and 4 ohms.

You will want the dual 4 ohm subs. The subs are available in dual 4 or dual 2 ohm coils.

Get the dual 4, and wire series, parallel.  Wire each sub to 8ohms, series. Then parallel them together for a four ohm bridges mono on the amp.

Taht amp won't do 2ohm bridged.....not for very long anyhow!   Your end "NEED" is 4ohm bridged mono.

800w x 1 split evenly between the two subs. Each sub sees 400 watts and each coil sees 200 watts. Here is the diagram that Kartuneman suggests for his wiring method.
