i'm thinking about putting my amp under the passenger seat,   i tried it yest, and it fits perfectly. my only concern is that...is it a good idea to drill it directly to the floor. i'm afraid to hit any lines etc. is there anything "important" running under there? and if hit a big puddle of water, it might have a chance to sneak in? also, i think the bolt that holds the seat to the chassis should be sufficient enough for ground. anyone who has the same set-up, or don't, feel free to school me...just need some ideas.

First go look under the car! see if there are lines or hoses of any sort.

As for the water concern, you can go back under the car when you are done and put some water proofing stuff like silicone caulking, but the best thing to fasten it down with is some small nuts, bolts, and wahsers and apply caulking to the washers and nuts on the underside of the car to seal it from water and coming loose.

grounding the amp to the seat bolts usually works, just scratch the paint away. I am doing it with no problems.

Also check under the carpet and make sure there isn't any wires or SRS modules under there.

Pull the carpet underlay off of the back of the carpet. Cut a piece of mdf a little alrger than the amp is. Place the mdf on the floor of the vehicle, put the carpet back down and place the amp on it. Adjust the board to fit where the amp needs to go. Next peel the carpet back taking care not to disturb where the board is. Mark on the floor with a felt where it sits. Remove board. Take a truck load of silicone and apply it to the floor inside of where the board was, place board into position and let it set overnight (hopefully somewhere warm). Replace carpet, screw amp onto board. No screws to exterior of vehicle. I would not use a seat bolt for a grounding location. See if you can find another spot on the inner frame where the paint can be sanded down and a new screw installed. Most vehicles this is easy to do and does not require a screw going to the exterior of the vehicle again.

If you live in an envoirment where the carpet gets damp (snow, rain) you will need to isolate the carpet from the amp.  As the amp gets warm, it will "wick" the moisture into the amp, rusting it and eventually renddering it inoperable.
