Im going to be buying a USA-400 amplifier by US amps ... its the older model... 1200 @ 2ohms bridged ----

My initial plan was to go with 2 12" L7's  - I havent decided whether i want a sealed or ported box ---

My reasoning was that ive heard them and so far they are the best bang for the buck (2 for 240$)

Im looking for suggestions, criticism, whatever.... -- I know there are much better subs out there, i just wanna be happy with the purchase.

So throw a couple of suggestions out here...i dont really have an oppurtunity to listen to different subs, as stereo shops dont stock many different setups --- Tell some bad things about the L7's if you know of them...

Also, ive heard the amp on a pair of sealed 10" L7's and was happy with the way they sound. -- should i go with a different amp?

Lastly, what kind of amp am i looking at for interiors? I wont be listening full on all the time but dont wanna drown out highs with a bunch of bass.

thanks

L7s definatly get loud, and they are a great bang for the buck. They dont provide much sound quality however, and the bass will definatly drown out un-amped speakers. Get a good set of componet speakers for the front of your car, and you can get a cheaper set of coaxials for the rear.

Ive never had the chance to hear and US Amps stuff, but I hear they are very good amps, and made in the USA is im not mistaken.

L7s work very well in a ported box. A guy I know has two 12" L7s in a ported box, each ran of a PG amp in the back of a Explorer. He says he has hit 151Db, not sure how accurate that is, but Ive sat in it and and it is LOUD.
