Hello, I am starting to build my system and from what I understand a Brahma 12 is an awesome sub for the money. Any one have experience with this or suggestion of a different sub? The company web site seems kind of outdated, etc. and I don't want to get ripped off, so any input would be appreciated.

What would be a good amp for this though? I have access to cheap Rockford fosgate amps, but which amp would power this sub really well?

Finally, I have a 2003 jetta, so which type of sub enclosure and what size enclosure would be best with this sub?

Thanks for all the input!

Sean

Excellent subwoofer. Wonderful SQ and it beats like all hell. I'd use a mono block class D around 1000 watts. You might just wanna wait a little while cause even though they won't tell us specifics Adire is about to release a new lineup.

Ya, they have no subs in stock aparently, but i definately reccomend a Crossfire VR1000D.  Adire reccomended a 1 cf sealed box for best all around sound.  Adire will be comming out with a dual 4 ohm vc version this year, so more amp choices will be available with a single sub set up.  If you end up going with the dual 4 ohm version when it comes out, i reccomend a Alpine MRD-M1000 or MRD-M1001, but NOT the mrd-m1005.

I agree with the part about not getting the MRD-M1005. I have an MRD-M1001 and if my W7 ever gets here I'll really get to put it to some use. But so far it seems like a really nice. Blew the shiznit outta some wal-mart pioneers that I hooked it to. They lasted about 2 days. Did it just for sh*ts and giggles.

Adire is an excellent company. They are small, however, and don't spend time developing the flashiest website. You won't get ripped off.

Our website is like our subs;  all the money's spent on performance rather than looks.  There are still a lot of people on dial-up, so we decided to make it fast for them.  But I think we have most speaker manufacturers beat in the sheer information we provide; not all of it about our product either.   However the lack of "flash" isn't due to inability on our part as one of my boss' other companies is a computer program technology company. posted_image
