Is there anyway I can patch up a woofer that has a .5 inch slit on the foam surround?

You could but it will never sound right.  You need to get the surround replaced.

Can you point me in the right direction where I can find surrounds for JL subs (10W3)?

You can use silicon and go on the back side of the surround...

Just try and line the slit back up as close as possible...Then spread a small amount on the slit and surrounding area....Then use your finger and smooth it out....Reapeat this a second time after the first coat has dried....

If you have lined the surround up good you shouldnt be able to notice a large difference...
