I jut got back from Vibe, the local shop ou there. I purchased 2 15 inch comp vr,250.00 for the pair. I bought the kicker kx 1200.1 amp for 600.00 and a custom box to fit my trunk for 250.00. Much more than I wanted to spend, but I feel good about buying the stuff locally.

My question is, if I put my components in and have them juiced up with a small kicker amp, do I still need the rear 6x9's. I sat back there today with the speakers on half way and the sound coming from the rear and left of me, didn't sound good. I felt like it sounded better when the fade was put 3/4's to the front. Any suggestions?

the subs are going to render the rear 6x9's useless, the air pressure is so much back there, the 6x9's will just die anyways, , so pull em out and let the trunk breathe, , , or make a sealed box for the rear speakers to protect them from the pressure in the trunk.

Congrats on the system!! Those compvr's get hella loud! My friend has 2 12s in his Caprice and they pound really good. Are you going with a sealed or ported box?? Also, what kind of car is it going in if I might ask?

Agree w/ custom. With that much bass energy coming from the back and components up front there's absolutely zero the 6x9's can add, in my opinion.

Thanks for the input. Do I need any highs in the rear?Midbass? I just get confused reading so many different threads and opinions. I don't plan on sitting in the backseat much, unless with hot chicks, but I would like to have the people in the back enjoy the music.

I have a 1998 Chrysler Concorde, with a big, but funny shaped trunk. I go in the morning to drop off the car and this guy Steve something, I forgot, is going to build it on the spot. He is a world class builder with plenty of magazine shots all over his place. Pretty impressive, but my friends all say that I am getting ripped off. Oh well I think it would be cool to have him work on my trunk. He has already told me that with the way the rear deck of my car is so low that he is going to build two boxes together to use the max cubes. Whatever that means?

I'll take all suggestions on the rear setup or maybe a persons real setup and how they have this situation handled.

oh yeah, I don;t know what steve has in mind as far as ported or sealed. ANd if I pull the 6x9's, should I seal the holes? And how important is damping my trunk?
