I had 1 amp powering rear speakers, HU powering front speakers all worked fine. Bought 2nd amp for front speakers then all 4 speakers began to buzz all the time , click when indicating and whine when accelerating. I tried both amps individually with both pairs of speakers with no luck . Active sub works fine also tried disconnecting sub and using subs ground point this made no difference. Speakers work fine when just coming off  HU. I was told amps were faulty (they were cheap) so i just bought new sony 500Watt amp this is just the same so its not an amp problem. Amp connected via RCA ,sub Connected on speaker wire.  halfords say i need a 2nd battery as its apparently a powerfull system!  I wondered if i need to upgrade link from chassis/body to the battery to help the grounding? can anyone help i'm stuck?

Who says you need a second battery?  Never take their advice again.

It is a ground issue, I'm 99% sure.  Read all the wonderful posts that are sticky at the top of the page on grounding.

Think ive tried most of the advice its strange how 1 amp worked before and now non work properly the buzz stays the same, but if you turn up the volume you cant here the buzz does that help. Ive changed RCA cable so its not that.  HU didnt like being grounded away from original point so i kept it there. My battery is new ,system is in renualt 5 1996. At one point  the fuse for HU and interior light blew before i got new amp.  HU is a new sony cassette with cd changer in boot near amp.

I'm fairly certain you have a ground loop.

If you can't figure it out PLEASE take it to a professional shop that actually knows what they're doing before letting some guy sell you a new battery, of all things.
