Ok, I have a 96 nissan that I'm trying to install an aftermarket HU in. When I plugged in the first new HU I had no sound coming out to the speakers so I assumed that it was damaged (was involved in a pretty bad accident). Well after installing the brand new HU I just purchased its doing the same thing. Sound comes out from the factory HU but not from the aftermarket one. I'd double and triple checked the wires to make sure they're correct. I have narrowed it down to the harness (Metra 70-1763 ). Any ideas whats going on?

Sounds like your car is equipped with a factory amplifier, look on your harness and see if you have the amp remote turn on hooked, they should both be blue from the HU and the harness, this turns the factory amp on and therefore should solve your problem.
