anywhere from 16 gauge and up... Here's a link to help you see what size you need

Good link haemphyst.

So, as you can all see from that calculator. It is a waste of money to get expensive 12g speaker wire. Even for a 10,000 watt system with the subs 10ft away from the amplifier the difference between 12g speaker wire and 16g speaker wire is inaudible.

I have expensive Munster Cable (12awg I think) and if I hadn't gotten the roll for free, I would not have it. It's supposed to be really nice wire, but you will never hear any difference.
