I will be running the JBL 1200.1 (1200~1400 watts x1 @1 ohm), the JBL 80.2 (45 watts x2  @2 ohm) and the Phoenix Gold Ti600.2 (150 watts x2 @4 ohm) in a '97 Ford Explorer (4L V6 SOHC Engine).  I figured that setup would pull somewhere in the neighborhood of 160 amps of current, please correct me if I am wrong.  Would a 200 amp alternator suffice for this, or do I need to go larger.

Right now I have been able to find a 200 amp alternator for $235.  If anyone can  find anythign better, or bigger (if needed) please let me know.

Thanks,
Evan

Theoretically something like 70 amps for every 1000 watts of power is a good measure. Assuming that is fairly accurate you should be fine. (Given anything that requires a good amount of power might slightly strain the system, it shouldn't last long enough to be a deal.) IMO the 200 should be fine assuming the rest of your accessories aren't pulling more than 40-50.
