Does anyone know if the amp turn on in a 2000 Mustang with a Mach system has a 5 volt or 12 volt turn on. I was told that it had a 5 volt, and by putting a resistor in the aftermarket hu turn on wire I could stop the popping noise when the amp powers up.

i would use a 7805 regulator not a resistor if you're going to try that.....
