I need to build a system totally portable, the only thing hard wired to the vehicle would be the power straight from the battery, with a quick connect / disconnect, and a ground. I cant use or alter the existing system or anything else for that matter on the vehicle, It's not mine. I am a long haul (Company } truck driver and I am issued a truck to use. The system has to be easley and quickly unhooked and stashed.  The system will inclued , a head unit, a CD changer, a XM reciver, a 4 channel 500 watt kenwood amp, a two channel 600 watt Bazooka amp, 2 enclosed 12 in. sub's, and 4  5 1/4 polk audio's which I put into boxes.  Is this possable or crazy.  If possable can I use 1 main power wire direct from the battery and split it to the amps , and the head unit ect.... Also can I use one 1 ground with everything going to it ?  One more thing can I put the head unit, Cd changer, and xm on top of each other and touching in a box or will the head get too hot ? Thanks

This is an interesting one, to say the least.  You must tell me why you have to take it out so fast! I am amused

Amps do NOT like to sit freely in vehicles, it is detremental to their health.

build a mdf housing with carpet for your headunit, changer and xm reciever. Build a mdf amp rack too

This sounds like it won't work in reality though...

I need to dismantle quickly should I get called in to the shop.

I've built a carpeted stand for the amps giving them lots of room to breath yet not allowing them to move. Whats a mdf housing?

I was going to build something to mount them any way ,some sort of box just concerned about over heating, being so close.

Do you need the front floor board? I'd say maybe make an enclosure for everything to fit in the front floorboard. That way you could use minimal wiring. Might wanna think about using a little less equipment. A head unit, xm, one 12, and amps could all be in the floorboard (Might wanna try to keep vibrations on the HU down). Then your components on the dash. Your obviously not going for looks or extream SQ. I dunno, this is a hard one. Just some suggestions.

MDF housing= a medium density fiberboard box with sperators in it for you HU, changer, and xm and put it below the dash, and if you really are clever you could use a speaker clip type aparatus for your constant, switch and ground so you can just take that housing out right quick!
