Any ideas? I have an 03' f-150 and would like to do a cuthrough for 8 subs or so, but have no idea about enclosure type or technical info. I am thinking of using Brahma's or memphis mojo's...I am thinking I would like 15's back there, i dont know...I have searched everywhere and cant find info on it or pictures. The most i have found is to do a 10 x 10 or 10 x 12 cut out and seal it with the accordion boot.
Any info you guys might have to help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Jason
One must be very careful when cutting a blow through out in the back wall as it removes basically all of the structural integrity of the vehicle or in a lack of better words, the roof will fold up like an accordian and squeeze your head like a watermelon in a accident. It is best to make as small a blow through as possible (relevant to the subs and box) and reinforce the opening with a new metal structure added and bolted to the key points to maintain structural integrety. Asided from that a basic mdf box and the accordain boot is the way to go. Do not protrude the box through into the cab as the box needs to flex independent of the cab. Instead use upholstered cardboard for this task, it gives the same finished look yet will flex with both the cab and box.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
sorry i guess i should have titled this topic: does anyone know how to do a truck bed cut through....my apologies for misleading you guys
Use 1/4" steel around the hole you cut. Put it inside and out. Weld it good. That should fix the butchering to the back wall.

That is WAY overkill. Dont use anything thicker than 1/8th inch steel.
