1 Adire Audio Brahma 15" , or a Resonant Engineering xxx 15" .  Both very bad ass subs that will easily hit 145+ in the right box.

Ive read so many good reviews on these subs. They seem very very close if you were compare the two, maybe with the xxx coming out on top. What is the price difference in the two?

The Adire will come out on top, ,RE is useing the technology leased from Adire.  As far as i now, both woofers run for about $400 us

I think the XXX has a little higher x-max and power handling than the Brahma. Otherwise they are pretty close.

A lot of subs can hit 145 in the proper enclosure and tuned to the right frequency.  The key is the enclosure.  I assume yu're planning to compete if you're looking for 145db as that is WAY too much for everyday listening.  Since you won't be worried about any SQ, port it and  tune it to 50 or 55 Hz to max out your cabin gain.

MANY subs can reach 145db's. However, my question to you is what are you looking for out of this system? Are you looking for a pure SPL setup or something along the lines of an SQL setup? If it's gunna be a daily driver..145 will take it's toll, however how loud you listen to it is up to you. Do you plan on competing as well? I'm assuming you do, but answer those questions and we'll further help you.

well it will be in a daily driver...although its my only car that i have, it is still my "daily" but i will compete with it ofcourse but i do love it loud... would a hifonics bx1800d push a XXX or a Brahma good enough tho? what other options...anything a bit cheaper and if so or if not where can I find a brahma or XXX? I want a new one too. Im mainly lookin for SPL but SQ is good too..ofcourse my 15s are losing a lot of SQ but it doesnt bother me i like the way they sound.... i have about 40x37x17 (LxWxH) in my lumina and i do not need any space for hauling sh*t that is for sure so i can use all that space if needed...

If you're looking for SPL over SQ..why not go with Kicker L7's? They're much more of an SPL sub than the Brahma or XXX.

Adire hands down, go with a brahama or a couple of shiva's.  You'll get quality woofers and spl and sq will not be an issue.    And the brahama would kill the kicker L7 in an spl comp, go to www.adireaudio.com and look at the brahama pic where the guy SPLITS HIS DOOR FRAME IN TWO PIECES, these brahama's are crazy.

Has Eclipse fallen off the face of the earth? No one mentions them here anymore (they used to be the darlings of this forum)...

The old guy finally showed up to work this morning. Two Eclipse aluminum 12's in the proper sealed box with your existing amp will yield same damn good results and save weight + trunk space. Next your lumina needs to be coupled to the cabin much better. I would be concentrating my efforts as to how to make this happen for either type of enclosure. These subs sound amazing and play to a highly respectable output level with depth. For a daily driver system I would look at these in a heartbeat.

As far as the amp goes, save your $. A difference of 3db is going to be needed fot you to hear a noticeable difference in output levels. Thus to gain 3db you will need to go from 1500w rms to 3000w rms. Changing you amp is not going to accomplish much at all. Pour those saved $ into maybe Titanium subs in a slot ported enclosure and as much as I hate Kicker, the L7's in a slot ported enclosure will do the job as well.

Think someone should in a test situation run a pair of bramhas and eclipses in the same car...same amp..etc.

Alright, someone send me both sets of subs and I will be glad to do this little experiment for you guys.

Also 145 isn't that hard to do.
