haha yeah, thanks for all your help. it never would have worked without your help :D
the rear is about level with the front now lol. but when i go over bigger bumps one of the wheels*dont know which one* rubs lol.there is alot of rattles, but i dont care lol.....
so how does it look stevdart?about what you pictured?

I was picturing the rears inverted, but generally, yeah.  Looks like there's an impediment there that prevents inverse mounting.  You weren't kidding about filling up the trunk!  (Where are you going to put the stroller?)  ha ha

Nice! That looks like a lot of bass in that trunk! How many rms are those subs each  and what kind of amp is that?

nice. Now you jsut need some fabric or vinyl to cover it. But it looks great!

lol my gf(who i bought the car for, so whos car it is) asked the same thing, so the simple solution.she will use my jeep when she needs to use the stroller lol.
the subs are rated at like 400 watts each coil, so 800 a sub. the amp is rated at about 1000 watts from the box, but was bench tested at 330.99 watts per channel RMS@4 ohms stereo. the subs are rockford fosgate 12 inch HE2 DVC, and the amp is the rockford fosgate 1000a2.
and for the box covering, im trying to decide wether to fiberglass and paint it or carpet it.

NIce install,  hopefully you dont get any wave cancelation with that setup.         That head unit is really nice!

you know, for how much bass there is, i have noticed it isnt hitting quite as it should. but i know i wont be getting much better in that car lol....maybe tomorrow ill try to get some action shots of the subs, that might look cool

ive actually just found it sounds MUCH better with the back seat up....so now i need to find a fan and figure out how im going to mount it....lol

Yeah, having those subs spaced in two different rows like that I would expect some cancelation at different frequencies. I'd be curious to see an RTA plot of the bass response, just to see what kind of effect the design actually had.

Ahh... Nothing like the smell of fresh sawdust... That is when the bass hits.

what if i turn the rear box around and phase them? i seem to be getting alot of cancelation right now. other wise i was thinking of maybe, firing them all downward with ports coming up through the 6x9 holes. what do you guys think?

If you haven't already, make sure you go through the tests of switching polarity on one of the boxes like I originally suggested.  Having inverted drivers isn't the only reason to try phase correction;  it can be a situation like this where there is some space between drivers or in other instances like when drivers are firing in different directions.  That's why when drivers are separated in any way each set of drivers should be wired to their own terminal cup so that you can experiment with reversing phase.

spl tested it at a place around my house and it hit 153.7 DB and they said there didnt seem to be too much cancelation. it did better then i thought but now im already trying to think of a way to get it better lol.that was with the amp in stereo mode, tonight ill try bridged.
oh and i tried to reverse the polarity and it produced almost no bass....
the guy who put the mic in my car said it was the loudest car by far hes heard since last spring. lol

(I'll post the plans up again for those who want to see how this project was figured out, originally posted in this thread in the General Discussion forum:)

Here are the results.  I figured out volumes and measurements for this project (may do this some day myself...) and I will outline it here.  All dimensions here are OD (outside dimensions).  The two boxes have the same common height at 15", the same common width at 36", and have a common base height of 3 3/4".  The face angle of each is 45 degrees, and saw angle cuts are listed here for the angles.  The face angle cuts are 45 degrees, but the angle on the rear of the front box has angle cuts of 16 and 74 degrees.  The lengths of the hypotenuses are 14 7/8" for each face and 10 7/8" for the backward angle.  There is a center top flat depth of 2 3/4" on the front box (I figured the air space directly below it at 1 1/2", so let the final size be determined when you assemble the angled sides), and a rear top flat depth of 3 1/4" on the rear box.  The depth of the front box is 16 1/2"; the depth of the rear box is 14 1/2".  The two boxes combined make 31" depth.

Volumes were determined using 3/4" MDF.  A solid 3/4" MDF center baffle is placed dead center of each box to separate the subs.  I figured subwoofer displacement ( or lack of, in the rear box) with these measurements.  Each sub will have 1.2 cubic feet of air space (displacement already figured in).  Build the boxes exactly to these specs and you will be good to go...(but check for fit in your car first).  Just an inch different somewhere will throw the balance off....and in your case where you are powering all subs with one amp channel, we want the volumes to be the same for each sub.

In this pic, the subs have been resized to be truer to scale and the base has been raised.  But I didn't redraw the boxes entirely, so the rear box will actually extend forward a bit more than is shown, and the front box will be somewhat compacted with a steeper backside angle than is shown (but the "cut angles" listed are correct)...

Using the same side view, the interior space is divided into rectangles and wedges and calculated to get total volume for each box.  Measurements below the pic are interior, and the results are listed below.

                   1.0766                                           1.0766

                     .307                                                .5127

                     .307                                                .76

              ___.879___                                    _________

                  2.569   ft^3                                     2.35   ft^3

         -   ___.16___  sub displacement  +__.04___   cone area

                  2.41  ft^3                                          2.39  ft^3

The middle divider and all sides have already been deducted, so you just divide these box volume totals by two to get 1.2 ft^3 per sub.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
