I have posted before about which frequencies i should set my subs and speakers at. Dyohn told me to set a bandpass filter on my 2 10" subs up front from 60hz to wherever my speakers are tuned at(around 250hz). Also to lowpass my 15" sub in the back at around 60hz. Finally the speakers to be high passed at around 250hz. I was told i could make the bandpass and low pass filter by resistors and tiny capacitors. Is this true? Do i need a crossover? I dont know much about crossovers, so could someone recomend an easy and affordable approach to setting all my frequencies? I have 3 amps(2 mono, 1 4 channel for the components and coaxials). Thankyou

Yes, you could build passive crossovers for your system but I suggest a far far easier and more precise thing to do is use an active crossover like an Audio Control 6XS. ------------- Support the12volt.com

will that be my badnpass filter and low pas filter all in one? Also if I high pass my speakers at 250hz i can use the amp to set the frequency, right? Also can i use the low pass filter on the amp for the sub? sO all i would use the active filter for is the bandpass filter?

The 6XS will give you high pass out, midpass out and low pass out, exactly what you need. ------------- Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

On my 500d amp there is a subsonic filter. I know its a filter to make sure ur subs dont go so low they blow. Should this filter be on? and at which frequency? Thankyou

Wouldn't hurt especially if you have a ported enclosure. What the subsonic filter is basically is a high pass filter to keep the amp from producing frequencies that are beyond our range of hearing or to keep the sub from being damaged.
