Here is what my trunk dimensions are roughly; 33" in width, 26" in depth, and no more than 20" high.

I want a dual, slot vented enclosure....I tried the calculator here and was only able to get about 7.5cubic feet, w/o the vent, any creative ideas are welcome of course

The tech guy at CV told me to use 9.4cu ft total, and a 56sq in port that was 10.25" in depth, I am not sure where to go from here.

If the woofer specs are needed I have them Thanks

You're setting up a competition SPL car?  Not enough room in that one for two strokers, that's for sure.

I am assuming you are using a Cerwin Vega Stroker 15" driver?? If not, there are links to the other sizes, but here are the spec sheets for the Stroker. Download the .PDF brochure, and it will give you all the information you are looking for.

I kinda need that back seat...how about one? I have the parameters, from Cerwin Vega, thanks anyway chad.

I wasn't plannig on using it as an spl car, just wanted the challenge of building the box and bragging rights...

Ok, you can get another storker and mount them in an Isobarik enclosure of half the size.

ok, shipping might be a little bit pricey though.

Either make another thread, or ask in this one, how to make an isobarik box for your stroker. Also, just to confirm this, what size sub do you have?

I think I've given up on this project for now. I don't believe they would not preform well in an isobarik enclosure. They are really only designed for ported enclosures.

They are the 15" model.

You can put just about any sub in an isobarik enclosure.

I have also seen some isobarik enclosures that are ported too. The rear air chamber is ported just like a normal enclosure would be.

So be it. How do I build one? Let me hear it, I'll try anything once...posted_image

Do you really think woofers like the strokers will work in an isobarik enlosure? i don't,  the spec sheet says they do not work in sealed or bandpass enclosures, not that they are the same, I am just skeptical.

Let's be clear here.

You CAN port subwoofers in isobaric configuration.  Isobaric is not a box alignment.  It is a driver configuration.  Porting the box and using an isobaric subwoofer configuration are not mutually exclusive!  It will work.  Whether it will work isn't an issue.  It will work.

Whether you want to spend the money for double the subs or whether it is actually a good idea is another question.

I personally think we should go back to the beginning.  What are your goals for this system?  Competition?  How much amplifier power can you reasonably throw at the system?

Well I don't really have any goals, just wanted to try something else. I have acess to these woofers at a good price. I would probably use my mtx 1000d for the time being.

Throwing stuff together without goals sounds like a waste of money to me.

Why not try a single higher end driver like a JL W7 or an RE XXX or an Adire Brahma instead?  If I wanted to spend money I'd be WAY more interested in trying out innovative products like that rather than something I can only describe as a "trunk rattler."

you make a good point. Although I have soem money to spend. So guess my goal would to have some big bass for a moment in time before I grow out of it. However I was interested in these woofers because I will have them in my hands for a relatively inexpensive price.
