I think the red wire may be missing, I got this one used. It came with my new truck, the seller said he hadn't tested it, but he tossed it in because the other radio had been jacked. Is this even a good model? It is a MAGI-TUNE HP 45X4 deal...

If it's a cheesy Wal-Mart stereo, I won't even bother. I am under the assumption that Clarion makes decent HUs though.

I have the black, the yellow (with fuse), but no red! I have all 8 speaker wires, a blue/white and brown...

I just read the brown is a TEL mute?

I'm thinking it is missing the red, it tries to eject, but it won't light up with the ground and batt hooked up.

If anyone has this radio and can tell me where the red is, please post. Thanks!

I'm loving my 'new' '95 F-150, it's 4x4 so I'm looking forward to the next storm!

sounds like the pin was pulled from the harness, do you see any open spots in the connector where a wire could go? it's likely it should've went there, all you need to do is buy a harness from a shop or get one from clarion direct.

Thanks, that much I figured. There are 4 pins on the stereo not being connected with the harness. It could be any one of those.

I'm reluctant to spend the money on a new harness when I'm not even sure if this HU works.

I gave my girlfriend a nice Pioneer, that had missing wires. I soldered directly to the pins and pulled them through the empty holes in the plug. It worked out great and saved me $35, which I still consider a lot of money. To be honest, I would do the same if I knew where the pin was on the Clarion. I actually found all of the pins with a multimeter, I think it was part luck too!

I can find the ACC if I can see the mainboard. If it lights works on the bench (I fix electronics at work) I might splurge and buy the harness from Clarion.

I'd love to know where the pin is for the ACC so I don't have to open it. My first guess would be right next to the black, but I don't want to let the smoke out of this. if I don't have to.

the pinout is: BLACK-empty-empty-BLUE/WHITE-empty-BROWN-GREEN/ BLACK

the bottom top row is full. The black and yellow are larger guage wires.

well, I dont carry clarion at work, but if metra makes a clarion harness then I'm sure its less then 25, ours run 16.99 full price, so you should be able to get one for under $20, possibly less from clarion.
