gotta a question for the 12v gurus which i cant seem to find the answer to. 

what is the maximum wattage 12 inches of 12awg speaker wire can pass?

what is the minimum awg speaker wire i can pass 2600 watts through?

You can use the power wire chart on this site (here) for this:  the first answer is 40 amps.

For the second question you just need to figure in the ohms impedance that you have the subs hooked up at;  the maximum amperage will be with the load at 1 ohm.  Use I = sq rt(P/R), so if the impedance load on the amp is at 1 ohm, then the formula would read "amperage = sq rt ( 2600 / 1)" which is 51 amps.

The wire size chart shows that 10 gauge is appropriate for 51 amps current.

You lost your dbs, eh?  I usually sweep the streets early every Sunday morning to collect all the spare dbs people lose after their Saturday night boom meets.  I keep them in a jar in my basement.  I'll look and see if any of them have your name on them and I'll email them back to you, OK?  posted_image
