I'm a pretty well rounded audio guy, but some products I have yet to see in full action until yesterday. www.realmofexcursion.com has alot of videos of subs reaching excursion levels I didn't think was mechanicly possible. One is of a 10W7 being tossed to the full extention of the surround. Unreal! Is this realistic of the speakers capabilities, or do these guys just burn money for entertainment?

My wife will never understand why, lucky for her!

most of them seem to be just total abuse. we do that at my shop alot too, but just with odds and ends subs. we even have an extension cord that we call the terminator. lots of fun for some reason.

sounds like alot of stuff we do around here.     got one blown 6x9 one blown sub.   well better finish the other one off.     I offer trade credit for old systems and such, so I get alot of sub that are ready to go.    we typically just plug them in and watch them go poof!

One of those W7 videos is insane. That speaker is right on the verge of exploding. POP! Speaker guts everywhere.

an installer i once worked with was employed by a shop that dealt many different brands of subs, includiong cerwin vega, pioneer, hifonics (when it used to be the sh*t), alumapro, ect. well, they were getting rid of old inventory and ditching the vega line so the were pluging old speakers into the wall. it was usually a few minutes and POP! well, they had one stroker 12 that they set on the floor, free air style, and plugged in. almost 8 hours later that bitch finally gave up. what a champ.

also, the other day i did a memphis sub, one of the entry level ones. it's death was instant, which was not the case for a mid 90's model kicker 6.5" midbass driver i had. i went almost 4 minutes. impressive for just a little guy.

I love that site, it shows you just how much power a sub can take. It also give people a chance to see a woofer they may be considering buying.
