I'm installing component speakers in my F250.

Are the crossovers durable enough to mount in the door or should they be mounted in the cab somewhere?

thanks,

Corey

I would recommend installing crossovers within the vehicle. Most doors are desinged to have water empty through them. The extra time it takes will even out if you have to replace rusted crossovers and take the door panels off any way.

I removed crossovers in my car from an old door panel install and found both crossovers very rusted and corroded. So I relocated my new ones under the dash.

Also to consider with mounting them in the door is the components in the crossover taking the beating of the door closing all the time, sooner or later, something is going to rattle loose.

I prefer to put them high on the floorboard inside the vehicle, where no one will kick them, but still convenient for the install.
