noise comming from box ports?

hello every one i have recently built a sealed box for a 10 inch sub. i decided to make the box into a ported but my problem is that there is a noise comming from the ports. it sounds terrible especially when really low tones hit. I used the port calculator on this site.   please help..

the port is on a 1cubic square box in the back, right bottom corner.

aren't ports supposed to be on the same plane as the woofer?

But it sounds like your box might be too small to accomodate a port are sure you that the woofer will work in a 1cubic foot, now ported box?

I am assuming it is a round port?

Yes, one cannot simply add a port to an enclosure designed to be sealed.  The result is usually bad news, or in more technical terms "Sounds like ASS." 

Port noise is usually caused by port diameter too small.  Bad sounds from port are usually caused by improper design.

What is your woofer, maybe we can suggest something for you.

one cubic foot has got to be way too small for ported.

One way that will "help " is to router the port with a roundover bit . This will only help with the flutter that you have but will not eliminate the problem.
