Lots of questions.

1. Is fiberglass lighter than MDF? I need a box that can handle 2000W but is very light weight. What is there besides fiberglass and MDF?

2. Is the space behind the seats of a regular cab F-150 enough for a ported box? I was told ported = more slam than sealed.

2. When mounting a heavy amp on the backwall of a cab, what type of hardware to use?

In most cases a FG box is lighter than and equal one made from wood. Not sure about the space issue but I would think that there would have to be a way to do it.

depends on the airspace the sub recommends. you could port a single 12" sub. what year truck? the new f150 reg cab is dang near an ex cab.

Fiberglass boxes are usually lighter, yes.

I'm sure there is. I have room for a 1.57 ft^3 (could be bigger if needed) box behind the seat of my standard cab Tacoma.

Not sure, I like to have my amp under my seat.

I forgot, recommended airspace: sealed: 0.75, ported, 1.25, for each sub. Hmmm, I guess I just answered my own question. I doubt there's enough space for 2.50 cubic feet back there.

I highly doubt that you have enough space for 2 12's. 2 ten's maybe but, 2  12"s. not.

  A fiberglass box is usually lighter but, they get heavier as more strenght is needed. A box that will handle the beating of 2000w will need to be pretty damn strong and will require many many layers of FB and will be quite heavy. I am working on right now and I already have 10 layers of FB on it not to mention that the front panel is 3/4" MDF and I have 3/4" MDF rods running through the center of the box. So, basicly to answer your question, for the most part a FB enclosure equalling the same amount of strent and bracing will be lighter.

Just go measure out where you think you've got space in your truck, and calculate how much airspace there is. That's what I did (many, many times). And I could fit probably about a 2.0 ft^3 enclosure just in my standard cab Tacoma.
