I just ordered a couple of these. I'm gonna be running a PowerAcoustik A3000DB on these in a sealed enclosure with 2.5 cubes of air space each sub. The subs are dual 1ohm coils, hold 1000W a piece. The amp puts out 1100 at 1 ohm, 1800 at 2 and 2300 at 1.

How much should I run on these subs to stay safe. Wiring at 1 would put 1150 on each, would that burn them up? I've never ran Soundstream subs before, so I dont know how they do with heat and extra wattage.

*I know PowerAcoustik is crap, but thats all I have to work with right now, please dont flame me.

I would not run that amp at 1ohm, although it claims it is stable, it won't gain you any audible difference, but rather shorten the life span of your amp. Go 2 ohm if that is possible, less distortion too.

Another very important thing to do with this set up is to set your gains properly or else you will kiss your soundstream woofers goodbye. If you do not know how, do a search, in fact there were a number of threads about this in the past few days.

I dont really care about the amp, LOL. It's PowerAcoustik. I plan on eventually matching up a soundstream amp up to these subs.

With the dual 1 ohm coils I can't get a 2 ohm impendance at the amplifier.

well it is up to you what you want to do, going higher, to what 4 or 8 ohms is the next step? I would do that before the 1 ohm deal, you do need this amp for a little while right, the wattage decrease will not be audible, besides do you have the charging system to handle such a big load?
