First thing is what kind of car is it? Anything newer I would suggest a harness, especially if you have any form of warrenty on it.

That is the harness you need, the part number is Metra 70-1858, the link was a random site found when I searched. It's 7 bucks through them, probably no more then 15 locally.

would it hurt anything if i didn't use a harness the wire harness in my car is kindof crappy

I need to re wire the factory harness that is why i was wondering if i should just hard wire the new stereo?

If the harness has already been hacked up on the car then you can just use it instead of getting another, it makes no difference aside from easier installation and removal. The link below should give you the colors for your factory harness.

Would need the model numbers off of both sets to be able to accuratly guess as to which is better for your setup, also are you running them off the decks power or a seperate amplifer?

Ha!

Man those JL's are about 10x nicer than those Infinity's.

BUT... if you are going to run them off your deck you ought stick with the References... the XR's will need wayy to much power to get much sound out of them at all.

You ought to match up that bad boy to a 300/4 and those XR's.
