Hi.This is a continuation of the 05 mustang posts.

There is a custom box for the 05 mustang that I am looking at.
It is a sealed enclosure, 12 in opening and has 1.25 cu /ft.

This wil be powered off a Eclipse PA5532.
Dual 4 ohm voice coil would be nice.

Any recommendations? I want 100% quality. Loudness is not my issue.

The Eclipse subs, of course.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Yeah the Aluminums bump pretty darn hard, just hooked up a 7300 series the other day to 500 wrms and it was no slacker in the bass department.

On Eclipse website is list

the SW6123DVC "needing" 2.52 cu/ft.

the SW7324DVP at 3.32.

I am new when it comes to subs. Always just ran coaxials and components off amps without subs, but I am wanting the quality and enrichment to sound that the sub would offer.

I thought that you were supposed to match the recommended volumes?

That to me looks like the reccomended ported volumes.

So sealed volumes are different?

1.25 enough for that sub to sound great?

MB Quart RWE254 (yes a 10") in the slot load enclosure of 1.25 cu.ft. or any Eclipse aluminum in a sealed box of the same size. Both subs will sound exceptional. How did you make out with Don on the amp purchase?

IDQ's, RE 12 and Atlas 12 would all be an excellent pick in your situation.

Hi Forbidden - thought I would start a new thread , the other was getting a tad long :)
Never heard from Don - wish I would.
Found a local Eclipse dealer wanting $500 for it....but they were about $100 higher on everything they had than Crutchfield for example, so I dont know if that price is good or not.

.....Custom box is for a 12 in only.....12 vs 10? 12 a little deeper / lower? SQ?
MB Quart list a 12 in DVC in their reference and premium series needing a 0.95 box.

Is there such a thing as close enough? Just trying to take my time, aggravate youall  :) LOL and make good decisions.

Head unit ?
I can get an Alpine CDA-9830 (4 volt preouts) for $250.00 including dash kit from Crutchfield.
Local place wants $399.00
Should I get him?

Seriously I appreciate all your help. ANy way I could re pay you?

Always give your support to the local dealer who is there to help you when need arrives. I'll send Don another e-mail but by the sounds of it you have found a good price on a great amp locally. Repay us by shopping at the local specialty shop and show him this kind of thread. This is the only way for him to truly know where his business is coming from. After that, throw the site a donation of some kind.

You know something - I realized something today.

I do custom picture framing. All we ever do is try to convince the public why our services and how our materials are far better than you can get at the "big box" stores.

I guess that is the same way it is with the audio stuff....Better products, better service, etc vs the chain stores.

I will wait until I get another price on the amp, but likely end up buying it locally.
