I need help.  Im not a pro, but im far from an idiot.  I just bought the SIR-CL1 Sirius Receiver to add to my VRX815 sirius ready clarion head unit.  The guy at the store told me thats all I need (The receiver and the antenna, and the service obviously).  I cant get my head unit to switch to the SIRIUS receiver, my only source options are TUNER, CD, VISUAL.

2 questions:

1) Anybody know what im doing wrong or how to switch to SURIUS ?  Its only a 1 cnet wire hook up, I know I didnt do it wrong.  Do I need to buy more crap to make this work ? (What makes a head unit SIRIUS ready if you need to buy all this crap)

2) Anybody have a number I can call for Clarion to help me with this ?  Ive tried the regular customer service but I get stuck in that automated loop and then goes to VM telling me they will call me back... shaaa !

Thanks !!

Well, the guy at the store missed a part. Unfortunately, the 815 does not controll the reciever, you need the DSC920S to control it, and then the audio would go in through via RCA to Visual 1 or Visual 2 input. When Sirius first came out, I guess "Sirius  Ready" meant aux input and external controller as well......posted_image

Yes. The new version of the Sirius box runs on the new version of the CENet protocol, which the 815 does not provide. It has to be a '35' series deck or newer, If I can remember correctly. Same reason I can't use my processor that went well with my DXZ 715 in my new car, that has a DXZ 745 living in the dash. For some reason, they aren't backwards compatable. Go figger.
