I'd look at rebuilders... you can usually pick up decent 150-200amp alts for like $250 - 300.

Try this alternator.

Or any of these.

People on this board will vouch for either rebuilder.

For not much more than that you can get a brand new ho alt. Personally thats the way I would go.

if you want a alternator that is rated at idle. not at 4000+ rpm @ 200 degrees     look into ohio generators or domonic irragi, both of these alternators are availibe on ebay.   you will have to find there stores.   but both alternators are rated at engine idle.     so 200amps at 600-800rpm    most with a max close to 300 amps    but be preparred to pay the price they start at about $300 for a 160-180 amp model and 300-400$ for a 200 amp model

Paradigm:
Why would you get a 'new' alternator? What isn't 'new' about a cracked case that had its entire guts ripped out and replaced?
Why you would you get a Stinger alt or something like that when you can't even directly bolt stuff like that on?

jeffchilcott:

Did you not notice I posted a link to a 200-amp Irragi?
For $229?
