Where to put subwoofers in an extended cab.

Unless you have a topper on your truck then your only other bet would be inside the cab. Granted you do not have alot of room. Have you considered tubes instead of boxes? This may be easier for you as you want to keep your back seat.

I've giving a lot of thought to this and I'm probably going to put all the big speakers and amps in the bed in a special box.  This seems the most appealing way to do it.

you are looking to keep the extended cab seating? i have a 91' s-10 4x4 extended cab with 4 12's in the cab. i dont have rear seats anymore, but that's ok. my truck isnt walled off, i run street 3-4, dbdrags with it. i feel i have pretty good sound quality, and i am able to run in the lower to mid 150's with only one amp. this is also my daily driver.

There is no such thing as "too much" only way you get better is to say...I'm going to do it!!! 

Well if you were talking about cutting the floor boards to make and enclosure..I would say, yeah that's a bit much...but hell go for it....

If you're nto worried about losing those back jumps..you could actually put the subs in there...

just sit back..come up with the most crazy idea and go for it...

now if you wanna put them in the bed...go ahead...don't need a topper...just get a tool box...bolt the thing down...and make sure it's good and locked...

3 ideas come to mind... one idea I've been toying with in case I end up buying my dad's Toyota 4x4. 

Idea 1:  Take out the rear seats.  Build a box as low as possible, with LOTS of bracing.  Create a cushioned top, and have the box serve a dual purpose.  The box can be a bench seat.  If the mazda has the side facing jump seats, you can do the same thing with 2 boxes. 

Idea 2:  Take out the center console(armrest), and build a custom box that fits between the front seats.  If you want to use both subs, I think the only way you'd be able to make it work is with an Isobaric setup.  You would end up with a sub facing rear, and a sub attached to the rear facing sub.  This is the one that I like.....

Idea 3:  As long as you aren't too tall..... build a hanging enclosure.  I've never heard of one, but I've dreamt of them before :)   A sealed enclosure with the subs facing down.  You would have to build a frame to hold the weight.  But it would give you the most room.  I don't know about the acoustics of this idea though....  I believe it's completely untried.

Unless you are going to cut ports through the cab and bed forget putting anything in the bed.  Besides, if your concerned with the safety and hearing of every one, that too will rule the bed box out.

forget about a seat box too.   one word (illegal)    If you were to ge t pulled over with anyone back there your nailed.

Take the center console one step further, forget about putting the woofers between the front seats, build a center console box for the back leaving just enough room for both jump seats to be used.  With one woofer facing to the left and the other facing to the right.  side by side in relation to eachother.
