I was doing some searching around the net and stumbled across this auction on ebay selling a harness that as a REM and RCA jacks that plug into the existing wiring harness for the HU. I was wondering if this was just a overpriced LOC or if it would be worth looking into?

BTW the auction seems to be ending soon, but the member name was euro_werks. Good feedback too.

looks like an LOC to me.  don't know why you would pay $66 for an LOC and remote wire tap.  But I guess it would save you time and look better with the heatshrink they've got on there.   Seems like  he's got a pretty good racket running there.

p.s. I believe the scions use the same harness as every other toyota since damn near the beginning of time, but I like playing up the scion angle, get those import tuners for every dime you can, lol

Hornshockey, I actually just bought one of those Scion TCs last week, so I guess I now officially fall under those import tuners. Really though, I was looking into hooking up some woofers to the factory deck in the TC. But I am unsure how I am going to go about the wiring. If anyone has some ideas as far as using a LOC or if there are low level outs on the the factory deck, I would appreciate it.

whooops...sorry jklint, didn't mean to offend.  you could use an LOC, but you might also look into getting an amp with high level inputs.  I know many amps come with the capability to accept high level inputs, but I do not believe there are any low level outputs behind the factory deck.

There are no Pre Outs on the Pioneer deck. There is a factory amp though that comes with a sub channel and you can buy the sub from Scion as like a $300 option. It's plug & play.

Well I wasnt looking to get the factory sub, it doesnt look that promising, considering what I want. I was looking more toward a 12" Brahma powerd by maybe an Infinity 1210 amp.
Francious70 - thanks for the info on the the preouts, I wasnt sure. Guess Ill have to just replace the deck. The only other question I was wondering was the system claims 150 or 160 watts, now is that pushing through the deck or is there a seperate amp that is given the speakers power?
