I would hook up sub on my factory radio. Is there a Amp turn on wire on the radio.

I ask because they make factory amp & sub for this truck.

Or I will have hook up a switch in relays to ing wire.

In what are the rear Spekers wires colors.

Thank you.

First off, the GM factory radio does not have an amp turn on.  Just tap into any ignition (turn on) wire you can find.  Just get a test light and find one that turns on with the car.  As for the colors of the speaker wires, I'm not really sure so you'd have to figure that one out yourself.

Try popping the speakers..

-Take a 9V battery and connect a wire to the positive and to the negative terminals

-Connect these wires to random cables coming off of the stereo (try wires of the same color, one with a stripe and one without).

-When you have a pair of speaker cables, the corresponding speaker will make a noise, or "pop"

This is the long way to find the speaker cables.

my god man... did you just suggest someone probe for voltage with a TESTLIGHT?   i would change that to say "Just get a DVM and find one that turns on with the car."

Newer GM vehicles do not have ignition wires in them (03 and newer). If it is a BOSE system then yes there is an amp turn on wire, as long as you do not have the Class 2 amp turn on which are found in some 03-early 04' vehicles. DO NOT use a test light in that vehicle, if you probe the data wire with a light, bye bye BCM! If you do not have the BOSE set up and need an ignition source, use the GMACC from SoundGate, it monitors the Class 2 data bus and will give you a 12v+ ignition that utilizes the RAP relay (stays on until the key is taken out or the door is open, just like your radio does). Now if this vehicle is 02' or older than you do not have to worry, you can find an ignition wire in the vehicle.

Ok I just did this in my '04. In your fuse box (interior fuse box that is) there is a 10A? fuse in the upper middle that is labeled radio/acc I believe that turns on when the key is turned to the first position. You can use that as your remote turn on. The nice thing about this is it stays on after your key is removed as long as the door isn't opened.

Speaker wire colors...
What Lthlquicksilver said is your best option, however...

https://wwwl.corvetteradios.com/Page.html has what you need

Please feel free to email me snowgod@fortinironworks.com as I just finished up the exact install you are doing.

Good Luck

Hey shltplease,
what vehicle do you have? If ka3vvv has a different vehicle it is most likely not going to be the same fuse box set up. Most truck, SUV's probably are, but we dont even know what vehicle he has. I am guessing that you do not have an SUV seeing as the fuse box in those does not have the radio/acc fuse.

Mine is an 04 silverado ext cab 4x4.

I just threw that out there to maybe save some time.

Concerning finding the right wires, speaker polarity, amp placements, box dimensions, it seems from my research it is better to check in the vehicle rather than the web. I got all kinds of info together before beginning the install and probably 50% of the info I found was correct and accurate.

The Truck is a 2003 gmc yukon. I just a ask about the amp turn on because some of 2003 gmc yukon have amp with sub in them.

I know not to use a test light I use a prob to test my wire. I wouldn't  get the ign @ the fuse box. I get it under dash where I can put a inline fuse on it just in case.  Seven years ago  doing  my Circuit City days I seen some brun up fuse box come into the road shop. Thank you guys for all the help.
