make a hole in the firewall and run it from the battery through the firewall, under the carpet and back to your amp's location

If you say "I already know how", don't ask me a single question.

erm....before you go cutting holes in the firewall try and see if you can get the cable through one of the rubber grommets already in the firewall, only cut the firewall as an ABSOLUTE last resort!!!

But.

If you must cut a hole then, make sure you put a rubber grommet in the hole that you cut and then pass the cable through that other wise the cable rubbing against the firewall will cut through the insulation and short out against the body of the car doing several things...it will blow the fuse that you WILL install in the engine bay, it will destroy the cable leaving it useless and also cause a potential fire hazard.....Also maybe this might be a little extreme, but keep a fire extinguisher handy, as you cut through the fire wall, the blade gets hot and when you burst through and hit the carpet underlay...it MAY catch fire....Just a warning. It's never happened to me, but its a possibility that I don't believe you should ignore.

In all my installs I have only ever cut holes in firewalls for one model of car and that was undercover Police SUV's they have quite a complex Sirens, Alarms, Strobe Lights (200Volts) PA system and two way radios, this is 3" wiring loom they are the only cars I have ever cut holes for, if you try hard enough then you can find a way through the existing power loom.

Downunder... deep.. How do you say beer in Australian?.. Just a little humor Much respect. But he is right as with everything be careful not to damage any electrical wiring as they may cause shorts to ground. The instal of an amp in the 95 galant is actually not that difficult . If you are insatlling your amp in the trunk of the vehicle find a location and secure it down with a reliable screw or bolt package. A qick way is to get one of those already package amp kits from Crutchfield or your neighborhood Pepboy or R&S Strauss. They com with all the wires you need as well as loom. Make sure to use specified wire kit for the power of the amp you are using. power wire muct be able to handle draw of amp.

In the trunk area you will find holes that allow for wiring they come out along  the corners of the back seat . You can even remove the back seat for clarity of their locations. As you run the wire from truck through to back seat area now remove those plastic covers on the carpet where they meet the door opening. Run wires carefully along to the front along right side of vehicle under dash leading into firewall grommet that brings wire to battery. Follow instruction that came with amp kit. Presto your done.....
