Ok my friend just gave me some stereo stuff he had lying around and never used for cheap so now I have two Infinity 12' subs single voice coil (120.se) with an impedenance of 4ohms and it says their power handling is 300 watts RMS and their power handling peak is 1200 watts. My amp is a kenwood KAC-X810D Class D mono amp with power ratings of:

Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 12V (1kHz, 0.5% THD): 600 Watts x 1
Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.5% THD): 800 Watts x 1
Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 12V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.05% THD): 300 Watts x 1
Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.05% THD): 400 Watts x 1

I have a question of how I should wire them and if it will be too much power. I read that class D amps are usually wired to run at 2 ohms so the way I understand it if I wired the 2 subs in parallel that would present a 2ohm load and wiring them in a series would present an 8ohm load.

So which would be better for me to do cause I really don't want to fry my subs. I'm guessing 8ohms would be like 150-200 watts which would be too little power but 2ohms looks like thats double the power rated for the subs. So neither one looks good to me. Any advice?

you will be fine running those subs on that amp at a 2 ohm load, as long as you match your gain to you deck.    Leave your bass boost at a lower setting, and read some of the posts on here about properly setting gains
