My brother has installed one Alpine MRD-M1000 per JL AUDIO 12W7 how many watts will he be giving the sub?

Alpine MRD-M1000........... 1000w X 1 at 2 Ohms

JL Audio 12W7........... 3 Ohms

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Is the 12W7 SVC or DVC?? If it's SVC:

The amp will put our 1000x1 @ 2 ohms
The amp will put out 750x1 @ 3 ohms
The amp will put out 500x1 @ 4 ohms

If the sub is DVC and you have it wired in series:

The amp will put out 375x1 @ 6 ohms

If the sub is DVC and you have it wired in parallel, AND THE AMP IS RATED TO HANDEL IT

The amp will put out 1333 watts

I have the MRD-M1001 in one 12" w7. It will sound really good. Trust me.
