Sorry guys. Just trying to clarify and make searching easier for future users.. If you don't mind answering again I'd (at the least) appreciate it.. ;)

In the 03-05's can the factory radio be removed if the Metra VT-GMOS-04 is installed in it's place?

Must the radio always be installed in the rear somewhere?

You do not need the factory radio installed anywhere if you use one of the VT adapters.

yea they only did that rear radio thing for a while, now that they have those new install kits i don't even see anyone sellingi the rear radio install kits,

We had an impala that kept throwing trouble lights  on the dash info center until we reconnected the factory unit. He hasn't been back with a problem since
