i was thinking about purchasing a diamond amp model d3600.1 and two 12" diamond  model d312 in a vented box for my gs 300 lexus, will that hit hard in that type of car or should i go with a bigger amp?

I would stick with that amp, it's a good sounding setup.  If you want it to hit harder, you're gonna want bigger woofers (like diamonds d6 line, and their matching bigger amp (d61500.1).

I run a D3600.1 and a pair of TM3 10s in a single cab truck, sounds great and gets plenty loud.

Dont forget that the gas tank is in that trunk so you have to contend with that being in the way so if you are looking for hard then I would go with what quick silver said
