Subject: Cd skips when subs hit

This summer, I put two JL 8s in the trunk of my S90. They are firing forward so that you can (with the help of a blue neon light) see them and the amp through the ski hole. I have a cd changer in the trunk and a slot for one cd in the dash. The dash player works fine, no matter how hard the subs hit. When I move the same cd to the trunk, however, the cd skips whenever the subs hit hard. You guys have any suggestions?

Had the same problem when I installed JL subs. You need a "soft" mounting kit which goes between the changer and the body of the car. Its very effective. Acts like the mountings at the base of buildings in earthquake zones (similar to JL subs, I think)!

I don't know what the mounting degree settings should be. I tried JimF's suggestion and it seemed to work. I didn't buy a "soft" mounting kit because I didn't have time. Instead, I put the foam that you insulate pipes with in between the body of the car and the changer. I got them hitting really hard and no skips. Thanks, guys G_Killion
