just picked up some type e's and was wanting to build a box to spec for these but there are no reccommended box sizes for anything other than type s and r...if anyone has any info on reccommended vented enclosure size i would greatly appreciate it

Well, they don't give a recomended vented enclosure spec on the data sheet, only a sealed enclosure of .8-1.7cf3. I would recomend calling you local Alpine dealer and asking them. They might have the answers you need.

racer is right. They say 0.8-1.7ft^3 for sealed, and if you look at the specs, the sub is made for sealed, and making a vented/ported box would most likely end up sounding like crap, or blowing the sub... or both. I built a 1.57ft^3 sealed box for my single SWE-1242 to put in my Tacoma, and I loved it.
