i want to put 6x9's in the rear hatch... my question is what kind of magnet depth do i need to check for to see what speakers will fit there.... also where is the best place to run the wiring to the hatch... i've searched for sites showing this type of install but have not had any luck......  i was looking at kenwood 6x9's but was told that the magnets might be too big to fit in the hatch.... oh and is it easy to build an extension to come off the hatch to hold the speakers so that magnet depth won't matter?....

Just did a 97 Jeep Cherokee sport edition.
5.25s on the "bar" on the roof (depth is not the issue, but there is a raised portion on the outside that kinda limits what will look good. The aftermarket grills surface mounted looked great!

Front doors - 6.5s but be careful!!!! Shallow is the way to go!

This was for my brother so I kept it cheap. Infinity reference all the way around. The front tweeters were a VERY tight fit due to the factory grill but shaved the inside of the grill a little bit and they fit.

As for depth - the window is a concern. Do not go ANY deeper and I mean do not even go 1 / 32nd of an inch deeper.....Window will hit.

Haven't done one in a while but the kenwoods should fit fine your best bet would be to take the speakers out and check it out. you can also get 6X9 spacers but I don't think it will look that great.
