hi again, i recently noticed that i had engine noise and rumble through my sub. now the funny thing is that you can here this even when the head unit is not in.
now i was fiddling with my head unit a few days ago after this had started and i noticed that when i shake the head around, there is a knocking noise cummin through da sub. i have regrounded the amp and it has done nothing, any suggestions?
by the way i have a power cap; it and the amp are both grounded to the car body but in different areas. wats wrong?????
this is not for the below setup

6* POWER AMPs
BLACK CORRADO

Well if you can move the head unit, that's error number one, and if moving it causes noise in one of your amps, then you have loose or bare or bad connections which is error number 2 or so. Noise through your sub with the HU off indicates a grounded RCA or speaker wire, or an extremely poorly grounded amplifier - assuming the sub amp is on. If it's off, then the most likely cause is grounded speaker or speaker wire.

yeah, the only reason the head was making noise is because i had taken it out. otherwise it is very strongly held.
thanks for the help. ill try and get back to you

I would also suggest grounding both the cap and the amp to the same point. It can only help. Another tip would be to make sure that the ground wires are as short as possible. That will help with resistance.
