One of those simple questions that I just have never asked and not really sure on.

When using just front speakers - should the fader be set to 0 (aka in the middle) or all the way forward?

Thanks

It doesn't make any difference.  If there are no rears to fade out, the fronts will remain the same either way.  A fader doesn't INCREASE the side you want louder, it DECREASES the side you want softer.  So if you started at center and faded toward the front, there wouldn't be any action because there are no rears to fade out.

The fronts will get exactly the same signal from 0 to full forward...whether the rears are hooked up or not.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
