I have a pair of round, single voice coil Kicker 15" solo-baric's (s15d) and a pair of kicker kx800.2 amps. Im looking to stick them in a 99 civic lx.

am i going to need a bigger battery/alternator to power these suckers? the current battery isnt physicaly very big, and i dont know how to tell how much the alt puts out. Im going to be using a poineer deck and the built in amp for the interior speakers. Also are there any places that tell you the best way to run wires through the firewall specific to car models? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

1) What box do you plan to run the woofers in? 2) Are the amplifiers class-d? My advice: If those are class a/b, sell them and buy a single more efficient class D mono subwoofer amplifier that is stable at 2-ohms. I don't think those amplifiers (especially two!) are very compatable with your car unless you are in the market for an electrical system revamp. ------------- New Project: 2003 Pathfinder

I agree, those are not Class D amps and will put a major strain on the electrical system. Sell them on E-Bay and buy a 1250.1 Class D amp if you want to stay with kicker. Chris ------------- Alpine CDA-9833 HU

should be a grommet on the passenger sid that you can run the wire through. (i think battery is on pass side).

Battery is on passenger side. Sorry forgot to mention that the subs are 8ohm, and not in a box yet (these subs can only be put in a sealed box) does that change your opinions on the amp i am using? would 2ga wire be ok?

Basically, most amps that are multi channel amps (designed to power at least two speakers, and sometimes 3,4, or 5 or more channels, are designed using "class a/b" circuitry, which is not very efficient (they make good power, but to do it they must draw a lot of current from your vehicle's electrical system). The higher wattage the amp, the more load on your electrical system. If you are planning on running a lot of watts to a subwoofer or multiple subwoofers, it is better to use a dedicated subwoofer amp that is designed using much more efficient "class d" circuitry. These are also referred to as monoblock amps. They don't require as much juice from the electrical system to produce power.

what kind of electrical system revamp are we talking about, what does it involve, est cost?
