Does anyone know who makes a wire harness that plugs into an after market head unit and the other side plugs into another harness that plugs into the vehicle harness? I seen one but the person could not tell me who made the harness.

Thanks....are you sure it is metra? The metra harnesses I have been installing require you to wire it to the after market radio harness. I believe it was two harnesses..one plugged directly into the after market radio and the other harness plugged directly into the first harness and then plugged directly into the car factory harness.

Well if I am mistaken, call a circuit city or best buy. They utilize those, I remember selling them at CC, way back when.

Metra does make these, most shops just carry the into car harness, but you can get the harness you are inquiring from Metra, or your local shop can order it for you.

we carry a couple at my shop.  They are Metra.  We carry the JVC and Pioneer ones for GM cars since that is what we do the most of.  dealer cost is 5X as much on the normal harness though.

they are part of Metra's "SmartCable" line... we use lots of them here...one side plugs into the aftermarket deck and one end plugs into the car... finished... they also make some OEM smart cables so you can plug an older GM radio into a newer GM vehicle, etc......
