I've got an 03 baseline GMC sierra with a basic radio. It has no theftlock on it. I want to upgrade to a factory unit with a cd player. The GMC dealer told me my truck would not support one with RDS, but would support one without it, anybody know if this is true?

Also, what kind of interchangeablity is there with factory gm stereos. I know alot of models use similar looking HU, but will they interchange with each other?

you can get a pimp *** cd player for the price of a stock cd.

I would also advise purchasing an aftermarket deck. Even considering in the price of the special harness needed you can get a very nice deck for the same or less then a factory replacement would cost.
