Hello all. I want to add a audio line in to my 1997 Sebring Convertable. I was hoping I could jsut slice a 1/8th headphone jack into the radio wires which connect to the car's amp. Will that work? Which wire should I connect to?

Will that work?  No.  What's your overall purpose?  What are you referring to as an audio line?

Well, basicaly, I want to add a line-in jack (which will be a 1/8th headphone jack) and connect it to the cars audio system so that I can plug in a laptop, mp3 player, or any other device with a head-phone out port and have it play through the cars audio system. I know there are other ways to do this (like those FM transmitters) but I really would liek to have something wardwired. How could I easily add this to my current car's setup?

See the N-200 HERE.  If it were as simple as hardwiring it in, devices like this wouldn't have to be invented.

Again, I don't want to use an FM transmitter. I'm looking for a way to hardwire into the cars system. I don't understand why I can't jstu splice into the wires going into the amp. As far as I know the signal going into the amp is an unamplified, analog signal just like what would eb comign out of the headphone port of a music device.

That looks liek it might do it. But I need to do soem more research. It appears that that unit plugs into the "CD Changer" plug on the back of the car's head unit. I'm not sure mine has such a port. I'll have to look around it a bit. $120 seams a bit high for that thing. If you have any other ideas or recomendations let me know...
