what are some good speakers for aroun $300? size dosnt matter, im going to build custom door panels. Its for a truck.

I really like my Infinity Perfect components but I would only get them if you plan on aftermarket amping them. The 7 watts rms from a head unit just isnt going to make it lol. I would suggest going to a local shop of some sort and try to figure out what sets you like the best. Not Circuit city or Best buy, but like Tweeters and local custom shops. My local Tweeters has a sick set up

I'll assume you're planning on outboard amplication just b/c you said you're building custom doors..

If you're brave, I'd check the high-end three-way set from JL Audio.. the XR653 I think... I know since the ZR's have been announced my JL dealer has been dumping XR stuff cheap as hell. Since you're building custom door panels you shouldn't have a problem with 3-ways... any of a number of other manufacturers compete here as well.... but not for $300... the mod here is a particular fan of the PheonixGold Ti Elites.

If you're not so brave, you'd want 6.5's 2-ways..you say 'size doesn't matter' but it always does.. if you're install isn't limited by size any other choice is goofy.

If I were to spend three hundred on comps right *now*?
I'd only spend two.
