need to figure out how to figure square port length i want the box to be tuned to 35 hz and its 3 cubic feet

We need to know 1)how big you want the square, OR 2) How long you want the port.  Then we can tell you the other dimension to make the port.

Square (or rectangular) ports are the same length as round ones of the same opening area.  You simply need to calculate the equivalent area of your square as if it was round; meaning, for example, a 4" round port is approximately 12.6 square inches in area.  An equivalent rectangular port would be 6.3" X 2".  The length of the two would be the same (for 33Hz in 3 cuft, approx. 7.5" long.)
